Sharjeel Khan Profile
Sharjeel Khan Profile
An aggressive left-handed batsman, Sharjeel Khan, born in Hyderabad, Pakistan, is also a part-time leg-break bowler. He made his first-class debut for Hyderabad against Islamabad in 2009. Although he did not have a great start to his domestic career, his performances improved over time and he ended up with over 800 runs in that season. In the only domestic T20 game that he played, he scored an impressive 101.
Sharjeel was eventually noticed, earning him his ODI and T20 caps in 2013. In his debut ODI game against Sri Lanka, Sharjeel played a brilliant knock of 61 at Sharjah as an opener. However, in games that followed and in the 2014 Asia Cup, he was not able to recreate his magic and was unable to convert decent starts into big scores.
In the 3 T20Is he has played so far, Sharjeel was effective in giving Pakistan a whirlwind start in the initial overs. In his 3rd T20I game, he hit his maiden fifty off just 25 balls. Still new to the international circuit, selectors retained faith in his abilities and made him a part of Pakistan's World T20 campaign in 2014.
Interesting Stat: In 2010, Sharjeel was a part of the team at the Asian Games in China, which won the bronze medal by defeating Sri Lanka in the play-offs.
